  • A total of 19.18 Lakh candidates appeared for the first stage. Around 2 Lakh aspirants are expected to make it to the Second Round of the Multi Tasking Staff Exam.

When will the SSC MTS Scorecard be released?

Please Note that SSC doesn't release any scorecard for Multi Tasking Staff Recruitment Exam. Candidates that do not clear the exam will not have their names listed in the SSC MTS Paper 1 Result PDF.

If you don't make it through, try not to worry too much. There is no limit to the number of attempts in this examination. If you meet the eligibility criteria you can attempt again next year.  

SSC MTS Answer Key 2019

The officials of SSC will release the SSC MTS Answer Key on the official website after the exam has taken place. The candidates can easily download the answer key in order to get an idea on their performance in the exam.

SSC MTS Merit List

SSC will release a separate Merit List for both Paper 1 & 2. Candidates that have their names in the SSC MTS Paper 1 Merit List will be eligible to sit for the Paper 2 exam.

Please note that Paper 2 is Qualifying in Nature. Marks achieved in the second stage of the MTS exam will not be considered in the final merit list.

How are Ties Resolved while Making the Final SSC MTS Merit List?

In any case, two candidates who have acquired equal marks, the following criteria shall be put to use in order to resolve the ties:

  • The students who have acquired more marks in Paper-2 will be considered
  • The older candidate will be given priority.
  • If the tie is still not resolved still, then the students whose name's first alphabet comes first in the order will be given consideration

SSC MTS 2019 Cut Off

Cut Off is a minimum qualifying mark that the students are mandatory to acquire in order to clear the paper. When the results will be announced, the officials will release the SSC MTS Cut Off on their official website.

  • Cloze Test
  • Fill in the Blanks (Double blanks)

Idioms and Phrases: Let us look at the phrase ‘Ball is in your court” – It shows that it is up to you to take the decision and the onus of the decision is entirely yours. The English language has hundreds of phrases, while some of them are more commonly used, the usage of others is less common. The phrase conveys this in a simple way making it open to interpretation. Another example of Idioms and Phrases – “Beat around the bush”. It means that the person is avoiding the main topic of discussion and talking about things that are more irrelevant to the discussion.

One Word Substitution: You need to find the right word to substitute a lengthy sentence with a single word

#3. Verbal Ability

  1. The section contains questions on Para Jumbles, questions on paragraph completion. Para jumbles is usually a group of sentences that are jumbled up and need to be rearranged. You need to understand the questions in the right context to rearrange them.
  2. Follow the sequence of the passage and keep the overall message of the passage and understand the story from the beginning to the end.
  3. Look for indications and connecting words or conjunctions that connect the story.
  4. The odd sentence out is another subject that will be asked in the Verbal ability section.

General SSC MTS tips for English Language Section

  1. The English language cannot be learned in a day and you need to read more to become an expert.
  2. Read More to Improve language. Read Books, Magazines and Newspapers to enhance your vocabulary.
  3. Study the basics of grammar and this can be done even from school level grammar books to strengthen your basics.
  4. Read the Newspaper editorial and opinion columns to improve your English.
  5. Cloze test has become a very important part of the section. Do not forget to prepare for the cloze test.

SSC MTS Exam 2017:

SSC MTS exam consists of the following paper 1 (Objective Type Paper) and Paper 2 (Descriptive paper). The paper 1 will be based on general intelligence and reasoning, numerical aptitude, general English and general awareness. The Total marks will be 150. According to the SSC MTS notification, the duration of the examination will be two hours for general candidates and two hours and 40 minutes for visually handicapped/cerebral palsy candidates.

Paper 2 will be descriptive in which the candidates will be required to write short/essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution. This exam will be conducted for the candidates who meet the cut-off prescribed by the commission in Paper 1 for different categories.

The Written Examination is divided into (Paper-I) objective type paper and (Paper-II) descriptive type as shown below:-

  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Paper-II will be descriptive in which the candidates will be required to write short essay in English include in the 8th Schedule of the constitution.

The SSC MTS exam in taking place in 2 stages. The Stage 1 is an objective type written exam of 150 marks of total 2 hours duration. The Stage 2 i.e. descriptive paper. Upon clearing the descriptive paper, you will be recruited to General Central Service Group ‘C’ Non – Gazetted, Non – Ministerial posts in various Central Government Ministries / Departments / Offices, in different States/ Union Territories.

The candidates who applied for this exam might be preparing on a full-fledge and looking for various ways to improve in the sections they lag. The competition is definitely tough, so the candidates must make a rock-solid preparation. By now, the candidates must become thorough with the syllabus and pattern of the SSC MTS exam. This article provides preparation tips for SSC MTS Section Wise. The basic qualification for this exam is 10th, but we have even the post-graduates apply for this exam to get into different departments of SSC MTS.

Tips for General Intelligence and Reasoning:

This section is to decide the candidate’s knowledge in relation between symbols, analytical functions and arithmetic knowledge. It covers problem solving, Analysis, Judgment, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Observation, Relationship concepts, Figure classification, Arithmetical Number Series, Non-Verbal Series, Arithmetic Computation, Analytical Functions etc. The best thing a candidate can do to prepare well is to refer to the previous year’s papers, attempt mock tests on a daily basis.

Numerical Aptitude:

This subject tests the arithmetical knowledge of the candidate. Candidates need to brush up their skills in Decimals and Fractions, Profit and Loss, Percentages etc. Candidates must follow shortcut methods to solve the questions in a stipulated time. Candidates will have to concentrate on Addition, Multiplication, Subtraction, LCM, HCF, Tables and Graphs, Profit & loss, Averages and Percentages. Practice previous years’ papers without fail.

English Language:

Concentrate on study and practice Vocabulary & Grammar, Sentence structure, synonyms etc. Practice on reading comprehension is helpful. Improve your vocabulary by reading news paper, you would come across many new words. Application of these words in a sentence can be learnt by reading news papers. The section has 50 questions, candidates must be able to finish within 50 minutes.

General Awareness:

Questions will be asked to test the knowledge of general knowledge and current affairs. Improve your knowledge on the books and authors, events, sports, History & Geography, Science, and Economics etc. By reading newspaper, your daily knowledge of events updates as well as your vocabulary. Make a habit of reading Editorial. Keep yourself updated with at least 6 Months of current affairs. Also, revise the topics related to Indian Constitution.

General Tips:

Practice Mock tests, test series online for better time management and accuracy. Be thorough with the syllabus and pattern. Make short notes of bullet items on flashcards that is easy to refer and revise irrespective of the place you are in. Remember it is not easy to crack SSC MTS Exam, however, with an excellent preparation, one can successfully crack this.
